Tested with real assistive technology
NexoBee is the work of one developer, Khokon, who has spent 15 years building websites for clients across the US and EU. For most of that time, accessibility was a line item — something to check off near the end of a project, if there was time left.
That changed when he started doing ADA accessibility audits professionally, including remote work with a Los Angeles–based agency. Real hours spent tabbing through sites with no mouse, listening to them with a screen reader. A lot of what he found wasn’t a bug. It was a decision — made without anyone intending harm — that quietly locked someone out. A menu that only opens with a mouse. A form field a screen reader reads as blank. An image link announced only as a file name.
Around the same time, he kept running into businesses that had already “solved” this — with an overlay widget. One script tag, promised instant compliance. He tested those sites too. The underlying problems were still there, untouched, just papered over by a toolbar that often made things harder for the exact people it claimed to help.
NexoBee exists because of that gap. Someone who understands the code should be the one testing it, fixing it, and telling businesses the truth about what actually works. That’s the job.
